Help us pass Moose’s Law

New Jersey Senate Bill S1258, would prohibits persons convicted of criminal animal cruelty offenses from owning domestic companion animals and from working or volunteering at animal-related enterprises. It would also  establish a presumption against pretrial intervention for such persons.

APLNJ fully supports this bill that passed its first hurdle, the Senate Environment Committee, on June 4 by a unanimous vote.

It now goes to the full Senate for a vote. Please contact your state senator (you can find him/her here) and ask them to support S1258, Moose’s Law. If you senator is Troy Singleton, Christopher Bateman or Linda Greenstein, they are the bill’s sponsors and you should send them a note of thanks for introducing this bill.
